Osceola Schools Transportation East & West: Built for Efficiency and Comfort

For school transportation teams, the workday starts long before the first bell. In the School District of Osceola County, some bus routes leave as early as 4 a.m. For drivers and attendants who live farther away, going home between morning and afternoon runs isn’t always practical.
When the district added its Transportation East and Transportation West facilities, it needed spaces that could support daily operations while giving employees a comfortable place to recharge. Ernie Morris furnished both buildings, helping create welcoming, functional environments for the people who keep the district moving.

The Challenge: Supporting Every Part of the Transportation Team
With hundreds of buses serving the district, Osceola Schools needed facilities equipped to handle everything from fleet maintenance to daily administrative operations.
The addition of Transportation East and Transportation West brought the district to three facilities capable of supporting those needs, reducing the need to move buses between locations.
“We don’t have to jockey from one location to bring it to Central,” explained Orville Watson, Director of Transportation Services for the School District of Osceola County.
Inside each building, the needs were just as varied. Managers needed offices where they could support drivers and attendants. Clerical staff needed workspaces to serve the community efficiently. Drivers and attendants needed places to sit, socialize, and prepare for their afternoon routes.

The Solution: Consistent Design and Responsive Service
Ernie Morris was selected to furnish both Transportation East and Transportation West. Because the buildings are the same size, the furniture, color schemes, and layouts are identical, creating a consistent experience across both locations.
Transportation East was completed first, giving the district a clear picture of what to expect at Transportation West.“The quality of the furnishings and the decor has been very, very impressive,” Watson said. “The facility looks amazing.”
While the overall construction projects experienced delays, Watson noted that the furniture was delivered on time and assembled within the scheduled timeline.
The Ernie Morris team also responded quickly when adjustments were needed. When Watson wanted his office desk repositioned, he simply mentioned it, and the team made the change within a few hours.

The Results: More Capability and a Comfortable Place to Recharge
Both facilities now include dedicated training rooms—a resource the district previously lacked. With training staff at each location, the district can conduct training at both facilities simultaneously.
The expanded facilities also mean buses spend less time traveling between locations for maintenance.
For drivers and attendants, the new spaces offer a welcoming place to spend time between routes. Some employees gather in the front lobby to socialize, while others relax in the driver lounge before heading back out for the afternoon.“It’s like we’ve been in the space forever,” Watson said.

The Takeaway: Support That Goes Beyond Installation
For Watson, the experience stood out for more than the quality of the furnishings. He valued the professionalism, availability, and ongoing support of the Ernie Morris team.
“They are an organization that will support you,” he said. “Their customer service is amazing. Their product is fantastic. They’re there to support you all the way.”
At Osceola Schools Transportation East and West, thoughtful furnishings and responsive service helped create spaces that support both operational efficiency and employee comfort.
